Circularity by Design : Toolbox for design choices in the urban environment

Bos-Brouwers, H.E.J.

Summary

Both the world and urban population are on the rise. Expectations indicated that approximately 75% of the world’s inhabitants will live in urban areas by 2050. This burdens the current agri-food system and we need to start taking a circular approach to be able to feed the ever-expanding cities. The Circularity by Design Toolbox presents guidance and examples for the urban environment. It describes 4 tools on the Governance for Circularity (Governance Roadmap), Circular Animal Feed (Classification Tool), Circular Biomaterials (Circularity Dashboard) and Circular Sanitation (Application of black & grey water), as well the overall Circularity by Design Principles.
