Project
High speed 3D Scanner
The availability of a skilled workforce for quality inspection in agri- and food industry is decreasing rapidly. Because of that, there is a growing need to automate tasks such as colour and size assessments of fruit, vegetables and processed food for sorting purposes or to classify batches. Extra benefits that come within reach by automation are that the work can be done faster, more objectively, more precisely and 24/7 if necessary.
The High-Speed 3D Scanner is a clear example of the innovation strength of Wageningen University & Research. A precision instrument to objectively measure and analyse the size and shape of agri- and food products in all parts of the production chain from harvest to retail.
Will you join us?
The High-Speed 3D Scanner can help multiple stakeholders in the agri- and food production chain like growers, traders, packers, transporters, to objectively assess the quality of their products as far as size and shape is concerned.
- The High-Speed 3D Scanner saves time and is available 24/7
- It has a 360-degrees ring-scan. Because of the high-speed scanning (up to about 20 km/h) it can handle a complete batch of products instead of just a sample, a big advantage compared to other scanning equipment
- It is equipped with a ring of 3 (or more) line-scan cameras of choice, combined with a powerful software package to capture images, measure size and shape in an objective way
- The software has multiple analysis possibilities: measure length, largest diameter, volume, detect spots on products, etc.
Market expectations
The High-Speed 3D Scanner is available for every company that has an interest in standardised and objective quality inspection by measurement of size and shape of agri- and food products. Hard- and software of the High-Speed 3D Scanner can be tailored to your specific needs.
