Exploring radical diversity in the Italian Alps: value and post-capitalist trajectories of change among mountain communities
This project is interested in understanding what it means to enact post-capitalist trajectories in the midst of capitalism. It asks whether it is even possible and, if so, what does it concretely look like?
What happens when we look at post-capitalism as a process that emerges from capitalism? What occurs to the people involved in such a project and what kind of socio-ecological lives emerge from it? Through a theoretical lens of value and ethnographic and activist research, the project analyzes the ways a mountain community in the Italian Alps struggles to organize their lives around values of multispecies care and solidarity.
