Environmental sustainability of healthier diets in Vietnam
In Vietnam, nutrition and diet are in a transition period. Food insecurity and malnutrition are still of public health concern in rural and mountainous area. While in urban and peri-urban areas, the rising nutrition problems are related to overweight and obesity, healthy diet and food safety. Not much is known about the environmental impact of the dietary patterns in Vietnam.
The overall objective of this research is to assess the environmental sustainability of the Vietnamese diet and to identify the trade-offs and synergies for different scenarios of diet optimizations by exploring multiple contexts of population groups and geographical areas.
