E-governance in spatial planning
The introduction of e-government services in spatial planning has consequences for the way interactive planning processes take shape. These services especially have an impact on the interaction between citizens and government. The aim of this research is to investigate the impact of novel e-government services on the interaction between government and citizens in interactive spatial planning. Several case studies are conducted in various planning contexts based on two distinguished dimensions; the nature of interaction and the planning level. These different situational contexts influence government-citizen interaction and therewith the requirements for the applied e-government service. A better understanding of the interplay between the e-government service and the impact on government-citizen interaction in spatial planning processes is needed. This insight will enhance the development of adequate e-government services that truly meet the needs of both actors (citizens and government) involved.
