Design and Evaluation of a Soil Literacy Assessment Framework

My name is Nafiseh Taghizadeh Kerman, and I am thrilled to announce that I am a new PhD candidate at Wageningen University & Research.

My PhD project (as part of the CURIOSOIL project) focuses on the “Design and Evaluation of a Soil Literacy Assessment Framework”. CURIOSOIL works with partners from across Europe to develop educational products, curriculum standards, and teacher training programs to promote a higher uptake and diffusion of good soil practices. The project aims to address gaps in understanding soil health among students, teachers, citizens, policymakers, and practitioners and alleviate soil illiteracy, a barrier to sustainable soil use. I am fortunate to be supervised by Omid Noroozi (ELS), Jetse Stoorvogel (SGL), and Ingrid Lubbers (SGL).

In addition to my PhD work, with my research methodology and advanced data analytics expertise, I have been working with Dr. Noroozi in various research projects centered around educational technology, peer feedback, and AI. With this in mind, next to my PhD topic, I hope to be able to continue working on new educational research projects with ELS colleagues.

In my free time, I enjoy doing sports such as badminton, ping pong, and gym. I am also passionate about art and photography. Additionally, I love learning new things, engaging in meaningful dialogues, and gaining new perspectives from others.

I am looking forward to this new chapter of my life and am eager to connect with you all!
