Citizen participation in cross-domain collaborations
Citizen participation is not just about ‘checking the box’; it's about ensuring genuine involvement of patients and/or citizens in decision-making, from planning to implementation. While most people acknowledge that it is important, how do we effectively implement citizen participation? What strategies work best, and which should be avoided? This is what we aim to find out together with citizens and professionals!
Background
We have kicked off a comprehensive study in collaboration with twelve cross-domain partnerships in healthcare and welfare (spanning from Groningen to Maastricht) that are working on citizen participation.
Project description
With the twelve cross-domain partnerships we are co-creating and sharing knowledge for sustainable patient and/or citizen engagement. We are building upon existing insights in the co-creation process.
Monitoring and Evaluation sessions with each cross-domain partnership ensure that partnership specific processes and contexts are taken into account.
Results
During the project, we will organize knowledge sessions and webinars, and publish factsheets, infographics, and articles.
Furthermore, building on existing models for participation and collaboration, we will present a (refined) model based on the results in this project.
