The AFER project is assessing Agricultural Fertility and Environmental Resources in Northern Ethiopia. This project has three PhD students who will investigate the intrinsic soil fertility and requirements and adoption of fertiliser blends for enhancing crop productivity in Tigray and Amhara. This project works with the Tigray Agricultural Research Institute and the Amhara Agricultural Research Institute in Ethiopia and has strong collaboration with the Cascape project. The project is co-financed by GIZ and Teagasc.
