LIQUID: Helping Dairy Chains Do Better

Improving gender- and youth-inclusiveness as well as the sustainability and product quality in Dairy Value Chains in Southeast Asia and East Africa are key in the LIQUID program.

All over the world, dairy is important for food and nutrition security.

In developing countries, dairy chains often perform sub-standard, leading to quality losses, economic inefficiencies, and low sustainability.

In an increasing number of countries international food companies are involved in dairy chains.

Little is known, however, on the inclusiveness, effectiveness and scalability of these practices.

The LIQUID program seeks to fill this knowledge gap. This work is supported by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research’s (NWO) Science for Global Development department (WOTRO) through the Food and Business Global Challenges Programme (GCP) (see also: Knowledge4Food).
