Single Use Plastics Classification

The EU has installed the Single Use Plastics Directive (EU 2019/904) to reduce the negative environmental effects of plastic littering. Although accompanying guidelines (2021/C 216/01) were prepared, the directive still leads to uncertainties what materials/products should be classified as SUP.

Wageningen Food & Biobased Research (WFBR) offers support to help you with the question whether your product will be classified as a single-use plastic product and the interpretation of the directive and guidelines.

A targeted literature study will be performed, supported by analytical techniques.

The resulting report can be used as an advice in your communication with the Dutch Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport (ILT).
