dr. Y (Yvette) Baggen
Universitair docentFollow me:
From 2013 till 2016, Yvette Baggen conducted her PhD research project at the (by that time called) Education and Competence Studies Group of Wageningen University. Her research project focussed on the importance of human capital for organizational learning and innovation. Specifically, she investigated opportunity identification competence of students and employees working for small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Since August 2020, Yvette works as an Assistant Professor at the Education and Learning Sciences Group in the topics entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial learning. She is involved in research projects on entrepreneurial learning in different contexts (e.g., education and businesses) and wide entrepreneurship education. Next to that, she works as a teacher in different courses on entrepreneurship education and HR.
In-between her work experience at WUR, Yvette worked as a postdoc at the department of Education at Utrecht University and as a Learning Expert at NN Group (Nationale Nederlanden). Here, she has had the opportunity to professionally and personally develop herself - in research, education, and in a commercial environment.
It is Yvette's aim to bridge the gap between business, education and research. She is eager to contribute to preparing students on their future (working) life, in which they are challenged to contribute to solving complex, urgent, societal problems. She aims to do so by (among other things) investigating, designing and implementing education that challenges students to think out-of-the-box, deal with uncertainty and create meaningful value for others. In other words, education that challenges and help students to develop an entrepreneurial mind-set.
