Coordinator Value CreationFollow me:
Yannick is part of the Wageningen Data Competence Centre (WDCC), where he is responsible for developing and implementing a vision to generate value from data science in the domain of Wageningen University & Research (WUR). The increasing amount of data and the growing relevance of artificial intelligence have a substantial impact on nutrition and the living environment. Nonetheless, the primary challenge is to shift research and digital solutions into practice to create sustainable outcomes for all parties involved. Therefore, he also connects with (inter-) national organizations and alliances, such as companies or research institutes, to investigate their needs and challenges related to applications of data science.
Prior to joining WDCC, Yannick gained experience in entrepreneurship and consulting. He co-founded Tinyfoods and Shelf Live, the first focused on insects as an alternative protein source for food and feed, the latter on the development of a voice-controlled inventory system for the hospitality industry. Additionally, he has been active at a startup aiming to increase end-to-end supply chain information sharing through a product passport in combination with a supply chain finance program. At WDCC, he strives to have a positive impact on today’s challenges by advancing realistic applications of data science.
