After two years of studying arts and documentary photography at the Applied School of Arts in Utrecht (HKU), I have started my academic career at Wageningen University.
I have completed the Bachelor Applied Communication Sciences with minors in Global Health and Food Security, and Sustainable Global Change. Following my interest in rural development and challenges related climate change and food security, I then completed the Master program International Development Studies with a specialization in Rural Sociology.
After my studies in Wageningen, I have continued my education with the Advanced Master Program International Development (AMID) at Radbouw University and a traineeship in the field of PMEL and Impact assessment.
I have conducted field research into the engagement of fisheries with Marine Spatial Planning negotiations in the context of competition over marine space in Scotland. Having thoroughly enjoyed this research project, I have co-published a paper on my thesis findings with Jessica de Koning and Jan van Tatenhove (see Publications in the column on the right).
Research interests include, among others, (social) resilience in the context of climate change, place-based development, peripheral spaces, environmental policy and governance.
I currently work with the section Space, Place and Society (chair groups RSO, SDC and HSO) as education coordinator and lecturer (see Education in the column on the right).
