dr.ir. R (Rinke) Stienstra
Assistant ProfessorDr. Rinke Stienstra received his MSc degree in Human Nutrition from Wageningen University in 2002. He subsequently earned his PhD in Nutrition and Metabolism from Wageningen University in 2007 under the guidance of Prof. Sander Kersten and Prof. Michael Muller. For his postdoctoral training, he moved to the department of Internal Medicine at the Radboud University Medical Centre in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, where he was supervised by Prof. Cees Tack and Prof. Mihai Netea. From 2010, he is appointed at Wageningen University and Radboud UMC and works on the close interplay between metabolism and immunity with particular interest in the development of obesity-induced adipose tissue inflammation.
