dr. RG (Rahwa) Kidane
OnderzoekerRahwa Kidane is a postdoctoral researcher in the Environmental Policy Group at Wageningen University and Research. Her current research focuses on Ethiopia’s engagement with UNFCCC transparency arrangements and its implications for national-level climate progress. She is also looking at how radical data transparency – or the generation of ever more climate-related information enabled through satellite and other remote sensing technologies – shapes domestic climate actions in India and Ethiopia.
Rahwa holds a PhD in Environmental Studies from the University of Adelaide, Australia; an MSc in Agricultural Development from Copenhagen University, Denmark; and a BSc in Rural Development and Agricultural Extension from Haramaya University, Ethiopia. Her PhD thesis mainly looked at climate change impacts, vulnerability and adaptation within the context of smallholder-farming systems in Ethiopia. Beyond academia, she has worked for Good Governance Africa – a civil society organization that is striving to improve governance performance across the continent.
