I'm a Forestry Engineer from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, with a Master degree in Forest and Environmental Conservation at the same university. My academic background is focused on investigating drought resistance mechanisms by studying trees' hydraulic architecture. For my bachelor degree I studied intra and inter-specific variation in the trade-off safecty versus efficiency in a Terra Firme forest in the Colombian Amazon. For my master studies I decided to conduct something similar but in the Dry Forest, adding some mechanisms research (cavitation curves and isotope discrimination).

With my studies, I specialized in examining anatomical traits of diverse tropical tree species to understand how they endure drought and which species are more resilient in restoration projects.

During my PhD, I aim to explore long-term drought responses by analyzing chronologies and isotopes from trees in Brazil's Caating and Cerrado ecosystems.
