PromovendusSince September 2023, I have been working as a PhD candidate in the laboratory of Plant Physiology and the Roots in Salt team, as part of the VICI project 'Plant Stress Resilience: Think Global, Act Local'. The plant phytohormone, abscisic acid (ABA) is known to be a master regulator to abiotic stress in general, including salt and osmotic stress. However, we lack understanding of how ABA dynamics actually drive changes in root system architecture in response to salt. Using my experiences (and enthusiasm) in microscopy imaging, molecular and cell biology, I aim to investigate the dynamics, signalling and function of the ABA in roots in response to salt. If you are interested in understanding the role of ABA or are fascinated by confocal imaging, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email to explore potential student projects.
