I completed my bachelor of Civil Engineering at the University of Twente. After working for the municipality of Enschede in 2020 I started my master in Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Delft, focusing on Water Management. I graduated in 2023 with my thesis titled ‘Long-term water balance of a combined capillary barrier-methane oxidizing landfill cover system’ which involved analysing measurements of a lysimeter and modelling its soil moisture and evapotranspiration.

In 2024 I started my PhD at Wageningen University focusing on soil-water-atmosphere-plant relations under the daily supervision of Ruud Bartholomeus. The aim of this PhD position is to update drainage standards for agriculture in the Netherlands. To make them more robust for the future Dutch climate, these standards will be optimised for preventing both too wet and too dry conditions and will take into account the stakes of different water users of the Dutch water system.
