dr.ir. MWC (Marijke) Dijkshoorn-Dekker

Marijke Dijkshoorn-Dekker is a senior researcher at Wageningen Economic Research with extensive experience in programme, project and process management in the field of agriculture, food and greenery in an urban and rural environment. She supports stakeholders in making integral considerations in the field of rural and urban sustainability issues. Within the framework of metropolitan solutions, she currently carries out a series of projects on urban and rural transitions towards more (bottom-up) involvement of stakeholders. In this, make use of a multi-stakeholder approaches, scenario analysis, monitoring and evaluation methodology, multilevel governance, social innovation. She is also working on the theme of nature-inclusive agriculture, raising awareness and movement of (future) entrepreneurs, new forms of cooperation, nature-inclusive business models and knowledge implementation in education. And is involved in a H2020 project “Social Innovation in Marginalised Rural Areas” (SIMRA).) In the past she has gained a lot of experience as an action researcher and process manager in various projects in the field of (knowledge) innovation systems, knowledge valorisation, transfer and management, transition process, education, lifelong learning at national and international (EU) level (2009-2015).This was done in interaction with stakeholders from government, industry, education and research. She has a master degree in Plant Sciences from the Wageningen University and has a PhD degree in production ecology and resource conservation. In the period 1990-2002, she gained a lot of experience on crop modelling, the use of artificial intelligence and expert systems.
