Madhurima is a feminist researcher from South Asia. She is doing her Ph.D. at the Environmental Policy Group (ENP) on climate-induced mobilities in the Bengal/Bangladesh borderland. For the last eight years, she has been working on the intersections of labour migration, gender, and public policy in various research organizations and think-tanks in South Asia. She has also been involved in various feminist and labour movements in India. Her research interest lies in understanding human mobilities driven by history, global and local political regimes, and environmental changes. Her present work centers on using mobilities as a framework to understand development and social justice. She is also interested in understanding how discourses on climate change are informed, (re)produced, and contested among different groups such as community members, policy-makers, and natural scientists as a way to (re) politicize conversations around climate change and cross-border mobilities.
