I have started out as a german agricultural science student, making my way through soil and plant sciences before finding my place in the Netherlands, and in Aquatic Ecology. I find great pleasure in learning about all kinds of aquatic organisms, ecosystems and interactions, working with sound for one of my masters thesis and cognition of fish in another. I am especially fascinated by work involving macroinvertebrate communities and the environmental factors shaping and changing its composition. Combining all of this, I am happy to be working on the EU funded RATION project as a PhD candidate, evaluating and developing a risk assessment scheme for low risk pesticides in the aquatic environment under supervision of Paul van den Brink.
