Jorge Sellare is an Agricultural Economist and assistant professor at the Forest and Nature Conservation Policy (FNP) group at Wageningen University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Goettingen (Germany) and a Master in Public Policy (University of Erfurt, Germany). Before joining the FNP, he led the junior research group "Transformation and Sustainability Governance in South American Bioeconomies (SABio)" at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn. His research focuses on how technological and institutional change can shape agri-food systems to reconcile rural development with nature conservation. This entails using interdisciplinary approaches to evaluate the impact of development and conservation policies, programs, and technologies, giving special emphasis to agri-food markets and value chains.
