As a mathematical modeller, I strive to contribute to this vision by collaborating with other scientists to develop models that:
- Support nutritionists in researching the relationship between diet and health, for instance
- Optimize the design of questionnaires to accurately determine people's dietary habits (1; 2),
- Enhance the design of trial menus to assess the impact of diet on health outcomes (3; 4).
- Help to compose diets that are both healthy and sustainable.
- Support the transition to more sustainable protein sources (5; 6; 7; 8),
- Reduce food waste (9),
- Eradicate micronutrient deficiencies (8),
- Support policymakers in low- and middle income countries in developing effective food and nutrition policies (10; 11).
