Joanne Siccama is a researcher in Food Processing Technology at Wageningen Food & Biobased Research. She studied Food Technology at Wageningen University and Sustainable Energy Technology at TU Delft. She did her PhD at the Laboratory of Food Process Engineering (Wageningen University) where she investigated spray drying of asparagus waste streams for the encapsulation of volatile flavour compounds. She obtained her PhD degree in 2022.
Her main research focus is on sustainable food processing, including waste stream valorisation and energy reduction of energy-intensive processes such as drying.
