dr. JAM (Jennifer) Koch
Universitair hoofddocentDr. Jennifer Koch is an Associate Professor in the Laboratory of Geo-information Science and Remote Sensing. Before joining WUR in August 2024, she served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography & Environmental Sustainability and as Associate Research Director at the Data Institute for Societal Challenges, both at the University of Oklahoma. In her research, she uses data-driven approaches such as simulation modeling and scenario analyses to explore management strategies for the mitigation of and adaptation to socio-economic and climate change. Dr. Koch holds a Diplom (Univ.) in Geoecology from the University of Bayreuth and a Dr.-Ing. from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering/Computer Science at the University of Kassel. She is actively involved in teaching and mentoring students, especially focusing on GIS, data management, and data analytics. She also contributes to the academic community through her service in professional organizations, including iEMSs, IALE, and the Southwestern Division of AAG.
