Iain Holliday is a Lecturer at the chairgroups Environmental Systems Analysis and the Water Systems and Global Change, where he teaches and coordinates courses including Global Water Systems and Climate Change, and European Workshop elective and supervises students theses. Before joining WUR, Iain was lecturing at Maastricht University in Sustainability Science and Policy where he taught Master and Bachelor-level courses and coached teams on Integrated Sustainability Projects with clients around The Netherlands.

Previously, Iain has a background in Geography at Queen's University, Belfast and has worked for a sustainable travel company in London and an environmental NGO in Kampala, Uganda. Here he was involved in fundraising and communications on projects implementing renewable energy initiatives within communities and schools and delivering climate-change presentations. Outside of academia Iain is a qualified ski-instructor and keen hiker, having recently walked the length of New Zealand.

He is passionate about: cross-cultural education, sustainable urban-rural development & innovation, historical geography, environmental conservation, biodiversity management and measuring the impact of climate change.
