PromovendusEsther Omosa holds a BSc Foods Nutrition and Dietetics and Master of Public Health and Epidemiology both from Kenyatta University, Kenya. She has over 15 years of experience in food security and nutrition programming in development and humanitarian setting, working in government and non-government organizations. Esther's current assignmnet as a senior nutrition specialist based at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Nairobi, Kenya involves coordination of nutrition activities across three CGIAR centres (CIP, ICRISAT and ILRI) in a nutrition-sensitive agricultural intervention program implemented in Kenya with an aim to improve dietary consumption among women of reproductive age and children below 0-23months of age. Esther's PhD research will focus on developing a food environment framework applicable to the pastoralist setting to influence food choice and consumption for better nutrition outcomes in Kenya.
