prof.dr.ir. AGJM (Alfons) Oude Lansink
Professor/Chairholder Business EconomicsAlfons Oude Lansink (1967) holds an Msc and PhD from Wageningen University. He is the head of the Business Economics group of Wageningen University since 2003. Also he was a member of the Plant Health Panel of the EFSA from 2006-2009, and a director of the Wageningen school of Social Sciences (WASS) from 2014-2022. In 2017 he was the program chair of the tri-annual congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists. From 2017-2023 he was the Secretary-General of the European Association of Agricultural Economists; during this period the secretariat of the EAAE was run through the Business Economics group at Wageningen University. Since 2019 he is also a member of the CDM, the expert committee on manure policy from the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, and a member of the scientific advisory board of Rabobank. He is also currently an adjunct professor of the Universidad Padjadjaran (Indonesia) and adjunct professor of the University of Florida (USA).
His research evolves around three main themes, i.e.
- Dynamic technical and economic efficiency and productivity analysis
- Sustainable performance of food supply chains and agribusiness
- Economics of plant health and invasive species
He has published over 300 refereed journal articles and has acted as guest editor of leading international refereed economics journals. Also, previously he was a member of the editorial board of Agronomy Journal and the European Review of Agricultural Economics.
