Wageningen Team Present findings at the 11th EUROSENSE Conference on Sensory and Consumer Research: ‘A Sense of Global Culture’ (8-11th September 2024, Dublin, Ireland)
The Sensory Science and Eating Behaviour Chair group had a strong representation at the recent ‘Euro-Sense’ meeting in Dublin which is the largest meeting of sensory scientists in Europe and this year drew a record crowd of >750 attendees. There were presentations from our PhD students Eva Cad on the i-Sense study to explore the impact of sweet taste exposure, Lotte Pater who talked about her work on mixed methods to investigate children’s perception of plant-based foods and Rutger Brouwer and Yifan Zhang who spoke about flavour release and juiciness perception from plant-based foods. Associate Prof. Gerry Jager discussed ethical considerations associated with new technologies in sensory and consumer science while Prof. Ciarán Forde gave the closing keynote talk on future perspectives in sensory science and nutrition. The team enjoyed some local Irish culture at the Guinness Store house and are looking forward to the next Euro-Sense meeting in Oslo, Norway in 2026.
