Sustainable tourism MOOC nominated for 2019 edX Prize

The massive online course coordinated by Arjaan Pellis and his team is among two MOOCs nominated for the 2019 edX Prize for Exceptional Contributions in Online Teaching and Learning.

The jury remarks: "Dealing with a topic interesting to all of us, Arjaan managed to create a community of practice in sustainable tourism, connecting various stakeholders around concrete problems. Being already an outstanding classroom teacher, Arjaan pushed our pedgogical approach and the limits of online learning by integrating scaffolding and open-ended learning in his MOOC. His strong online presence helps to inspire and connect with his learners."
