“Analytical Performance" in the international SensUs student competition!
The WUR student team, co-supervised by Johannes Hohlbein, developed a test to probe the presence of a specific biomarker for traumatic brain injury, GFAP (Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein).
The test operates on a concept reminiscent of a COVID-19 self-test: a small blood sample is applied to the end of a paper strip, and shortly after, a line appears that can be read out with a sensitive detector.
