Nestlé Nutrition Institute(NNI) “shaping the future with Nutrition”
This year was the 100rd workshop of the Nestlé Nutrition Institute (NNI) “shaping the future with Nutrition” in Montreux Switzerland. NNI workshops are aimed to share leading science-based information and education with healthcare professionals (mostly physicians and dieticians), scientists and nutrition communities and stakeholders in all parts of the world.
This year’s theme was ‘shaping the future with nutrition”, in which maternal and child diets were central but the workshop also included more novel topics such as early life gut-microbiome effects on health and precision fermentation of milk. The SSEB group was represented by Marlou Lasschuijt who presented in Session 2 of #NNIW100 with the theme “Establishing good diet habits for optimal development.” She was the first speaker of the day and the title of her talk was “𝗧𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿,”. Talks were broadcasted and live translated in Spanish and Portuguese, viewers and attendees joined from more than 20 countries with over 13000 online event registrations, 1600 unique livestream viewers and more than 4000 video on demand views. The talk given by Marlou Lasschuijt was the 2nd most viewed session! Besides the scientific program, there were lots of opportunities to meet fellow nutrition scientists and physicians from across the globe during the gala dinner in Chillon Castle with of course good food!
