Jimena Diamint, MSc Tourism, Society and Environment alumna, has won the ATLAS Master Thesis Prize 2024!

In her thesis, Jimena investigated the discourses within the aviation industry about the net-zero strategy, with a focus on identifying dominant and counter-discourses and understanding how they are legitimised and delegitimised in her thesis. Jimena was supervised by GEO's Martijn Duineveld and Cheryl van Adrichem, the thesis was examined by Edward Huijbens.

The verdict of the jury: “The thesis deals with a really important
topic: KLM’s dominant and counter-discourses on aviation and climate change.
Based on a well elaborated literature review, theoretical and conceptual
framework and a properly justified methodology, the thesis offers detailed and
intelligent findings and therefore makes an important contribution to the
debate about sustainability.”
We wholeheartedly congratulate Jimena on this outstanding achievement
of winning the ATLAS Master Thesis Prize 2024!
