e-AgriMBA project presented to the president of Moldova

On 5 September 2023, Associate Professor Rico Ihle of AEP - one of the partners of the e-AgriMBA project - presented the achievements made by the project since its start in September 2022 to Her Excellency Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova. Ms. Sandu visited Wageningen University accompanied by a high-ranking delegation from various ministries of the Republic of Moldova, Veaceslav Dobîndă, ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Netherlands, as well as Prof. Bostan, rector of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM). TUM is the Moldovan project partner of e-AgriMBA so the established institutional links have been pointed out and options for future cooperation discussed.

Ms. Sandu stressed during this visit the aspiration of Moldova for becoming part of the EU family. Increasing the competitiveness of the Moldovan agribusiness sector in order to deliver economic opportunities also for the rural population of Moldova and increase export earnings were pointed out as key aspects for reaching this goal. Ms. Sandu stressed the importance of lifelong learning for achieving and maintaining excellently trained professionals for advancing the Moldovan agribusiness – which is exactly the aspect which the AgriMBA network aims to achieve.
