Assistant Prof. Marlou Lasschuijt visit Pediatriex in Guadalajara, Mexico
In April Pediatriex conference was organized by Nestlé in Guadalajara Mexico. Two hundred pediatricians from 15 South-American countries attended the conference. Assistant Prof. Marlou Lasschuijt from the Sensory Science and Eating Behaviour group at Wageningen university gave a lecture with the title “Mastering Eating: The Role of Early-Life Texture Learning in Oral Processing development”.
After the talk there was a live and lively discussion with all of the presenters and topic ranged from the gut-microbiome to malnutrition. The audience was much involved and asked many questions, most questions were about the baby led weaning approach and whether it is recommended to give children spices which highlights the difference between Mexico and the Netherlands (In the Dutch cuisine hot spices are rarely used). It was a fun conference with a very interested audience!
