Are you an editor of an academic subscription journal? NWO has announced an upcoming call to support academic journals to switch from a subscription-based model to a Diamond Open Access model.

Who can apply?

Editors, academic societies, foundations and associations that want to “flip” their existing academic (or professional) journal to a non-profit Diamond Open Access model can apply for NWO funding in a new call for proposals. For each project, you can request up to €50,000 to cover the costs associated with transitioning to a new non-profit, diamond open access model.

Applications are open to researchers affiliated with Dutch universities, universities of applied sciences, and other research institutions. Additionally, editors of international journals are also eligible for this funding.

The call is expected to be out soon. For more information, please visit Funding for 'flipping' journals to diamond open access | NWO.

Diamond Open Access

Diamond Open Access means that no costs are charged to authors or readers of publications. Supporting open diamond initiatives is in line with the Open Access policy of WUR. For more information, please see Open Access.nl.
