Basic English
Do you have little knowledge of English and do you want to acquire a solid foundation? For example, to use on holiday or to talk to international colleagues? Then this course is exactly what you need. You learn the basic English skills required to hold an informal conversation and to read and write simple texts.

Everyone that has little knowledge of English and wants to acquire a solid foundation in a short time.

Course content
The beginner course is focussed on practical skills. You learn English using everyday situations. The following topics are covered:
- introducing yourself;
- giving personal information;
- asking and answering questions;
- pronunciation;
- verb conjugation and tenses;
- beginner grammar and vocabulary;
- beginner reading and writing skills.
Admission requirements
To take this course you need an Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT) score between 0-40. You can apply for the online OOPT by emailing us at into@wur.nl.
