Advising

If you have an advisory role, or are expected to influence your colleagues or clients in decision-making and change processes, good advisory skills are essential. In this training programme, you will learn how to conduct an effective consultation, and how to build trust, enhance credibility, and overcome resistance.

Content and approach

This training programme combines theory, practical exercises, and role play. You will be offered tools and the opportunity to practise your advisory skills, making you more confident and effective in your advisory role and able to offer advice with more impact and influence.

What will be covered?

We practise with our own cases, with a focus on connection, exploration, giving feedback, formulating your advice convincingly, addressing resistance, tuning in, and making agreements.

After completing this training programme, you will:

  • be able to consciously embody your desired role as adviser
  • understand the purpose and characteristics of a consultation
  • be able to prepare, structure and lead consultations
  • know what your own counselling style is and how to adjust it where needed
  • know what interventions you can deploy when resistance arises
  • be able to adequately guide the people you advise in making choices

Target group

This training programme is aimed at professionals whose job and expertise requires them to advise colleagues or clients and who are looking for tools to increase their impact and influence.
