Erasmus+ Extension

While being abroad for your Erasmus+ exchange, it can happen that you need to/want to stay longer than you originally anticipated when filling in your Erasmus+ grant application.

If your stay abroad will end more than 5 days after your originally anticipated end date (as mentioned on your Grant Agreement), you can apply for an extension. Please inform us at least one month before your original end date, and follow the procedure as explained below.

How to apply for an extension

  • Contact us by sending an email to studentexchange@wur.nl at least one month before your originally anticipated end date. Inform us that you would like to apply for an extension, and please mention your new end date.
  • If you informed us well in advance, we will ask you to send us the confirmation of your Exchange Coordinators/supervisor that they approve of your extension.
  • Once we have received all the necessary information, and we have enough funds available, we will let you know if your extension is approved.
  • If your extension is approved:

    • Study exchange students - you will need to submit a Changed Learning Agreement (CLA), with the new dates and extra courses, in Osiris Student. After submitting the CLA, it has to be signed again by the Exchange Coordinators from both universities.
    • Internship/thesis exchange students - you will need to fill in the 'During the Mobility' part of your Erasmus+ Learning Agreement, with the new dates. Please name the document 'CLA [your surname]', and make sure that it is signed by both you and your internship/thesis supervisor from the receiving organisation. Once signed, please upload the CLA in your grant application in Osiris Student. The Exchange Office will then sign your CLA on behalf of WUR, and upload the fully signed document in Osiris.
