About Bert Holtslag
Bert Holtslag is emeritus Professor of Meteorology and Chair of the Meteorology and Air Quality Section at Wageningen University (period 1999-2019). Before 1999, he was employed by the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) and by Utrecht University. He enjoyed working together with many students and scientists to advance atmospheric science and create impact with applications and outreach of insights. He has a large track record on studies dealing with modelling and understanding of various aspects of weather, air quality and climate. Bert has been member of many supervisory boards and audit committees. He also served as President of the European Meteorological Society (2020-2023).
