Alumni Chapter Indonesia

In 2014, Wageningen University & Research launched its first Alumni Chapter in Jakarta, Indonesia. The official launch took place at the Erasmus Huis in Jakarta, where more than 40 alumni, students and special guests attended.

After inspiring presentations, the programme continued with the official Wageningen Alumni Chapter launch where Mr. Tjeerd de Zwaan, the Dutch Ambassador, Dr. Huub Löffler, the Director of Wageningen International and Dr. Tony Liwang, a member of the Supervisory Board, signed the official document. All three pointed upon the importance of maintaining a strong alumni network to connect and build relationships. Moreover, alumni are important ambassadors and play an important role model for future students. The Wageningen Alumni Chapter Indonesia will be based in Jakarta. However, since also many of the Wageningen alumni are located outside Jakarta the idea is to have regional-chapters in the future.

To run the Wageningen Alumni Chapter in Indonesia, the Wageningen University Alumni Office has set up an Executive Board/EB and Supervisory Board/SB that consists of alumni from different graduates’ year who have been actively engaged in the preparation of the chapter.
