Summary

The Bunyavirales is a large and diverse group of viruses. Several members of this group feature on top priority lists of pathogenic microorganisms that threaten public health, as they are known to cause severe disease in plants, animals or humans. This thesis aimed at gaining molecular insights into the biology of arthropod-transmitted bunyaviruses. A better comprehension of the bunyavirus life cycle is critical to develop safe and effective countermeasures in the event of an outbreak.
