About series Demystifying Degrowth

Emerging from academic debates, degrowth has caught the imagination of a wide variety of groups. The movement echoes from grassroot organisations to the EU Parliament. Come and join us in exploring the different aspects of degrowth!

About Introducing Degrowth

Crelis Rammelt opens the series by introducing degrowth and setting the stage for the following evenings. The degrowth movement offers a radical critique of a growth-based paradigm. What alternatives become possible once we move away from measuring success through GDP? Degrowth draws from political ecology, ecological economics, eco-Marxism, feminist theory and post-development. Crelis will bring together these intellectual insights to confront us with our own biases concerning growth, limits, money, and quality of life.
