Ritzema Bos lecture: Unravelling the secret of root architecture
On Tuesday, April 2, the first lecture of the new Ritzema Bos lecture series will start. Viola Willemsen, professor of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Plant Sciences Group of Wageningen University & Research, will deliver the first lecture of the new cycle. She will unravel a variety of secrets, from cell division to organ formation of root architecture.
Plant science is flourishing in the Netherlands, with Wageningen University and Research as one of the hotspots when it comes to cutting-edge techniques, talented researchers, and enthusiastic students. We all share an interest in plant life, yet we are often insufficiently aware of our colleagues' expertise and ideas.
That is why plant scientists at different career stages and from different disciplines are brought together, just as Ritzema Bos did in his time, for a recurring seminar series.High-profile speakers are invited to give lectures in Wageningen on plant sciences of interest to all of us. The lectures are open to all; our external colleagues are also welcome.
Professor dr. Viola Willemsen will kick off the first lecture of the new cycle of lectures. In her lecture, she will unravel the secrets from cell division to organ formation of root architecture.
The Ritzema Bos Lectures should pique everyone's curiosity. So motivate your colleagues as soon as a Ritzema Bos Lecture is announced on the Ritzema Bos Lectures website, wur.nl, intranet, and through flyers, social media, and EPS and PE&RC newsletters.
