Lunch concert: The Migratory Birds
Our music is a swirling meeting of folk from Syria, Kurdistan, the Netherlands and the rest of the world. Poetic Syrian songs, Kurdish music about love on distance and Dutch folk music alternate and combine during our performances.
The name De Trekvogels (Migratory birds) refers to the fact that two of us came from far away to live in the Netherlands in safety and freedom. Making music together goes beyond borders of continents and cultures.
