Humour Unites: Comedy & Conversations on Diversity

Are you ready to take a fresh look at diversity and inclusion within our working and learning environment at WUR? On Thursday 10 October, we invite the WUR community to 'Humour Unites: Comedy & Conversations on Diversity’ in Omnia on Wageningen Campus. This unique event is taking place during the national Diversity & Inclusion week and promises an afternoon full of insights, discussions and, above all, humour.

Diversity and inclusion are important issues, but how do we really put these values into practice? During this event, we will explore how organisations - including our own WUR - tackle these challenges in 2024. Stand-up comedian Derek Mitchell (@letsdoubledutch) will take us into his world of recognisable, sometimes awkward situations and cultural misunderstandings, with a good dose of humour.

Why you shouldn't miss this? 'Humour Unites' is an inspiring event offering you the opportunity to participate in an open, honest and critical discussion on the sometimes complicated but crucial questions surrounding diversity and inclusion, such as:

  • Is diversity a hollow phrase or the key to successful teams?
  • How do we deal with the tension between ideal and reality in our working environment?
  • Is D&I a distraction from deeper, uncomfortable conversations?

Be inspired, ask questions and end the afternoon with drinks together with colleagues and fellow students.
