Summary

This PhD thesis aimed to understand how Agritech firms address the challenges associated with leveraging digital technologies to provide services in the agri-food sector, with the goal of recommending strategies to sustain their businesses and enhance agricultural production.

Beginning with a review of actors and technologies in executing business strategies for achieving ecological sustainability within agricultural ecosystems (Chapter 2), the thesis then used a SWOT analysis to assess the practical implications of technology adoption in agriculture (Chapter 3). Drawing on interviews with Agritech firms in Ghana, the thesis then examined the strategic learning responses to business challenges of Agritech firms (Chapter 4), followed by an analysis of collaborative partnerships that support these firms in managing technological challenges (Chapter 5).

Finally, Chapter 6 explored stakeholder roles in supporting technology adoption through a network of resources and partnerships, offering strategic insights to facilitate Agritech firms’ success in the evolving digital landscape.
