Project
Student Energy Saving Challenge
This initiative from the Green Office Wageningen collects the efforts of various key stakeholders in the realm of the regional energy landscape, to work towards a uniform and impactful project to save energy in student houses.
This includes the design of energy saving boxes to be funded by the municipality. Furthermore, it focuses on the gathering of tools, behavioural information and relevant policies to educate international and Dutch students about their options for energy saving measures, and to atomize them to make changes in their homes.
The project is in collaboration with Wageningen municipality, Thuis, Idealis (main student housing in Wageningen), and Master students.
Activities
The project sprouted out of an organized lunch meeting commissioned by Idealis and Thuis, which focused on facilitating open conversation between students and their landlords surrounding energy saving needs, both for costs and for the environment. The project aims to organize more events both to gather information from students through lunch meetings and surveys, but also to provide them with the existing support through collaborations witch Energy Locket meetings, where they can get personalized advice.
