Club of 100

Club of 100: working together on innovation

The Club of 100 works on new production systems and techniques with which healthy and resilient crops can be grown. The Club of 100 - which consists of a large number of leading companies - thus contributes to emission-free, circular and autonomous greenhouse horticulture.

The Club of 100 is a collaboration of dozens of companies and non-commercial organizations in greenhouse horticulture. The members are active in, among other things, supply, greenhouse construction, vision, robotics, breeding, starting materials, propagation, energy, automation, and sales and trade. Van Oosten: “The broad composition of the Club of 100 allows us to work on integrated solutions where we look at the entire 'system'.”

For a healthy, productive crop

The Greenhouse Horticulture & Flower Bulbs Business Unit and the Club van 100 members develop knowledge that forms the basis for new innovative production systems for the international greenhouse horticulture sector. Van Oosten: “We strive for a healthy, productive plant that grows and blooms optimally. The Club of 100 thus supports growers worldwide.”

Coherence with other programs

The Club of 100 collaborates with the other programs of the Greenhouse Horticulture & Flower Bulbs Business Unit, such as Healthy and Productive Plants, Emission-free cultivation, Circular Greenhouse Horticulture and Autonomous cultivation. The Club of 100 has its own roadmap for each strategic theme with an explanation of what the Club of 100 is doing to achieve those ambitions.

Our contribution to the future of greenhouse horticulture

The Club of 100 has contributed to the future of international greenhouse horticulture through a large number of projects. Some recent examples:

  • Projects in the field of plant health, such as Gerberascout, Year-round biological control and Root Environment
  • Projects in the field of cultivation, such as Light and growth (Looking for a compact (dynamic) light spectrum to grow), Above and below ground control for resilience and Dynamic lighting
  • Projects in the field of new production techniques, such as Use of Vertical Farming in greenhouse horticulture, Sensor technology and Daylightless cultivation systems
