Integrated Seed Sector Development

The Integrated Seed Sector Development (ISSD) approach aims to strengthen different seed systems on a national and continental scale. With the ISSD approach, we support the development of a vibrant, pluralistic, and market-oriented seed sector.

Lack of access to quality seed is one of the most pressing issues hindering productivity increase. Addressing complex seed sector challenges will result in better performing seed sectors with increased access to quality seed of varieties farmers prefer. This positively impacts food and nutrition security and economic development.
